hi all i would just like to wish mr fisher a long, happy, and well earned retirement. A long time has passed since i left trull and i thought i had forgotten most of it but now my daughter has just started school at trull every time i pick her up or go into the school many very warm and happy memories keep flooding back and i walk home having a good chuckle to myself. Trull school will continue to be an excellent school thanks to all the brilliant staff past and present and i am very proud that my daughter has been given the priviledge of becoming a pupil there. kind regards to all at trull school John porter.

Dear Parents and Children
Very many thanks for all your generous gifts and kind words that I received at the end of last term. It took me quite a while to go through everything, and it was both humbling and moving to read your messages. The last day was lots of fun and made for a special and memorable way to say farewell to Trull School. However, it was all rather hectic and I was unable to say thank-you or goodbye to so many of you, so I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you ‘officially’ and to wish you all the very best for the future.
Yours sincerely
Steve Fisher (Retired Year Six Teacher)

Good Lord, things at Trull have moved on from my days there! An internet page???!!! Astounding. When I was a young whipper-snapper there all they had were a few dodgy old BBC computers used to play Crystal Rainforest and Granny's Garden. ( nostalgic sigh) Those were the days...
Shocked Mr Fisher has left, though. Always thought he was one with the school...
Sorry Chris looks like some of your message has not been uploaded....

Blimey, I see Mr Fisher has finally gone! Mr Lloyd is still there (I remember calling him mum by mistake once, he responded 'yes dear'!) I was at Trull until 1987. Four of my brothers also attended Trull.

Just a quick note to wish Steve Fisher all the best for his retirement. Hope it's a long and happy one, it's certainly well-deserved. I've got many happy memories of my two years in class 6 (1990-92) - particularly listening to Tolkein being read aloud, and the much-anticipated arrival of what I think must have been the first class computer - I imagine there are a few more these days!
Anyway, all the best for the future and for many happy motorcycling years to come.

My very best wishes for Steve Fisher in his retirement. I also have many fond memories of my time at Trull (approx 1978 – 1984). I’ve since become a teacher myself, although whiteboards and pens have stymied my attempts to emulate his chalk-throwing prowess. All the best for the future, Steve.

I attended Trull from 1977 to 1982 and had a fantastic time there. Heard that Steve Fisher is leaving and just wanted to pass on my best wishes for his retirement. I'm sure the years have slowed down his attempts to out dribble the school football team but we all used to have great fun, especially the golden years of the midfield dynamos.

Hi there. We will be deciding which School to send my little girl to in Oct this year, ready for Sept 2010. We are in the Trull catchment area and really like the look of Trull School, but do not know anyone with children the same age as my daughter who are also thinking of sending their child to Trull School, so we could get to know some other parents (and so Katie can get to know some other children her age). I would be so grateful to hear from anyone, so we can compare sob stories about our little ones growing up and moving on to Primary School! My daughter is currently at Bushy Cross Day Nursery. If you would like to get in touch with Pauline please reply to the school email address and we will pass your details on.

I happen to know that there is a sort of show going on in the summer and I was wondering, if it is anything to do with the previous showcase concert, would I be able to take part playing my trumpet? Details of the concert have not yet been sent out.

I've just advertised Trull School and the All Saints Church in Trull as being attractions in my IT project on Taunton! It's because you're all so great! (By the way, could you please tell me how old the All Saints Church is, because I thought that it was built in the 13th century, but I'm not too sure.) Are you going to do a Drama production this year?Trull Church was built in the 13th century. No news about a production yet but, watch this space!!

I went to Trull between 1984-90 and remember those years as some of the best in my life. I regard Trull as an excellent school, offering the very best start to young children. I now work for the academic publisher Wiley-Blackwell in Oxford, have a BA and MA, and live in the Cotswolds. I particularly remember Mr Fisher and Mr Lloyd as both being excellent teachers. I hope you enjoy your retirement Steve. All the best, Jenny Guildford (formerly Farmer)Lovely to hear from you, thank you for your kind comments.

I went to Trull School from 1970 to 1977 and I can honestly say they are some of the happiest childhood memories I have. The old Headmaster was Mr Gifford, who I remember looking just like Gregory Peck and was terrific.
I learnt to swim and dive in the pool and had a wonderful education thanks to all of the teachers. I particularly remember Mr Reekie who was initially terrifying but actually really good fun and a great teacher to boot.
Thanks Trull School!
Thank you for keeping in touch, we love to hear from all our former pupils and hear how they are getting on. I personally don't remember you, however we may have some ex-pupils who will I am sure. By the way diving is no longer permitted in our pool........ was it really allowed in the 70's?

Hi, it's India here, left in 2003 - you may or may not remember me... I was just browsing here, (I heard you now have a website), and thought I'd comment!
I'm finishing Castle next week, in the middle of all my GCSE exams at the moment. Looking at all yours pictures brings back memories!
Love the new extension by the way! Bye X
Of course we remember you India, especially Mr Fisher who remembers all his ex-pupils. Where are you going in September?

Thank you for asking about the dogs. They are both fine.
Bo is still doing (and loving) Agility. Tammy is now 10 months old and we’ve been doing Obedience training. She has recently begun Agility lessons too.
She has just about stopped chewing all the toys (and kitchen door) and digging holes in the garden – I hope!
If you look on the Staff pages there is a photo of the dogs.
Best wishes from Miss Roberts x

Hello - this is a question for my favourite ever teacher - Mr Fisher! What was the name of that board rubber you used to throw at us? (Never at me of course!) Thank you for teaching me so many excellent things, especially that 'waning' means getting smaller like Wayne O'Donnell. Reply from Mr Fisher: Answer: Pugsey. (It was actually a pin-cushion!)

Hello! I left Trull about fifteen years ago, which is quite a scary thought, but have lots of happy memories from there. The school looks really different, but it's nice to see that some teachers I recognise are still around - hello to anyone who might remember me!
I currently live in Cambridge and work in a small publishing company, but my parents are still in Taunton so I visit the area fairly regularly. My sister Caroline, who also attended Trull, is now a history teacher. I'm also getting married next summer - another scary thought! Anyway, congratulations on the website and I hope everyone is really well and happy.
Sarah
Yes, we remember the Higgins girls, and we've got happy memories of you both. Congratulations on your forthcoming marriage, it's not as scary as the thought of Caroline being a teacher though! She might be interested to know that we now have an ex-women's international rugby player on the staff. (Or was that just a passing phase?)
Good luck and best wishes.

hello!

It's been around ten years since I was at Trull as well (was in lily's class) - Trull looks so different!! Anyway, agreeing with Lily, its nice to see teachers like Mrs. Morrice, Mrs. Wardell, Mr. Lloyd and Mr. Fisher still there from when I was at primary school! My family have just moved to london and I'm in my final year of university now in York, so Trull seems an age away though I still have lots of happy memories of the place, including falling in the old nature area!! Thank you for all the good times

Hello...
Felt the need to say well done for this lovely site, although I'm slightly distressed by how different the extension makes Trull look! It must be about ten years since I left and it's great to see some familiar faces on the staff page :D I saw Mrs Wardell when I was working in Waterstone's before uni a couple of years ago, which was strange but lovely! I still have the teatowels we made with drawings of us all...ah memories. Anway, thanks to the school and the teachers for everything, Trull was a wonderful start and I had such a good time there. I hope you're all just super,

Lili

G'day. this is a really great website. It is nice to be able to see whats happening at Trull. The photos look lovely. You are all growing up so fast. The new extention looks teriffic. Hi to all the teatchers and the dinner ladies.
REPLY: G'day to all the McManus family, great to hear from you. We love the 'new wing', although some of us still get confused walking around the school! It has made a huge improvement to our facilities. We hope you will be able to come and see it for yourselves one day. Keep in touch.

This is to say hello to Mr Fisher and Mr Lloyd, these two old timers would have taught me from 1985-1987 if my memory serves me correctly!! I had a look at their mug shots they haven't changed one bit!! I remember Mr Lloyd hanging up fractions on a washing line, I can still see them now! Mr Fishers sing along with the radio and his ability to chuck chalk and pin cushions across the room quite accurately!! I shall come and visit one day!! Vicky Hassell

Hey Trull!! I left 7 years ago, we were the class of 1999. I am trying to organise a reunion party for my year......so if any of you are reading this, please, please get in touch asap. It would be great to organise it now before everyone goes off to university / travelling in the big bad world. We would also love as many of our wonderful teachers (!) to come as well. I will drop in soon and leave some invitations. Many thanks.

Great to have a look around this website. I was at Trull school from 1971 to 1978 (which is ancient history to most of you I know!). It was an excellent school then and seems even better now, though it has grown so much! I remember the improvements in 1975 because after school one day a teacher (Mr Reekie) let some of us go up there with him before it was opened and look around. When I first started we still had to use the Victorian outside toilets, no matter what the weather. Boys wore shorts all year round and I used to arrive very cold in winter after my walk to school! I would love to see more pictures on this website of how the school is now - though I am pleased to see the floor in the hall still has those big squares and has stayed shiny! Oh, and Trull school must have done something right....because I became (and still am) a primary school teacher!
Hello Matthew, nice to hear from you, I am the current HT. Not sure you would recognise us now, as we have just had a whole new front entrance, extension type face lift! If you are in the area or are local - do pop in for a look around.

Heh. Should've checked my spelling I guess! It wasn't that good when I was at school and hasn't improved since. Glad to hear you still do the bike thing and very sorry to hear the gerbils aren't around any more - but yes, maybe they were a little distracting at times! It was rude of me not to give my name, I'm Sarah Pontefract. I'm not sure you'd remember me but I used to chatter a lot in class if that jogs your memory in any way ;0)
Mr Fisher replies:
25 January 2006 00:00:00
It's great to hear from someone from 'way back'. Yes, he still rides a bike - but very sedately. No, class 6 is now a gerbil-free zone. They had to go. Their rather noisy 'proliferating' tended to distract the pupils at the back, especially in quiet reading periods! (17 years ago, eh? Uses big words like proliferate. Dodgy spelling of definitely. No handwriting sample to analyse... Who is this mystery ex-pupil?)

I left Trull School 17 years ago and have found it fun looking at this website. Mr Fisher was definately my favourite teacher and judging by the comments in the guestbook he continues to be a big hit! Does Mr F. still ride a bike? And do you still keep gerbils in class 6? They had a remarkable ability to proliferate, it always quite impressed me. Anyway.... lovely school...

hello everyone. i really enjoyed my time at trull school from Year R to the end of year 3, which was when i left to go to King's Hall. However i throughly enjoyed my time here. The website is very good and i have really enjoyed looking through it and all the pictures, especially of the teachers !!! it brought back alot of memories ! my teachers while i was here were Mrs Ruff in Year R, Mrs Hall in Year 1, Mrs Wardell in Year 2 and Miss Matthews in Year 3, who i don't believe is here anymore. Well i am in year 11 at King's College at the moment doing GCSE's, it is extremely hard work, so much coursework ! I would love to hear from some of the teachers or some of the pupils that were in my year, like Esther Colmar (who i keep in touch with), Luke Holly and Abi Lawrence, Ben Moore, Rachel Lock, Sarah Yates, Sarah Hayden, Seb, Amy Mitchell etc.... It would be great to hear from all you guys again ! miss you lots . Alex xxxxxxx

I was looking at your web site as I'm keen to send my son to Trull in a few years time. It brought back some very fond memories as I was at Trull from 1973 to 1979 and my elder brother and sister before me.

Can someone tell me how long Mr Fisher has been at Trull? Surely it cant be the same one that taught me back in the 1970's ! Other teachers that I remember with varying degrees of fondness (some were fantastic and some were scary!) - all from the 1970's - Miss Libby class 1. Miss Bond class 2. Miss Bradford (later becoming Mrs Thomas) class 3. Mr Rekie (sp) / Mr Fisher class 4 and Mrs Hall / Mr Gifford (head) class 5.
